A Gentle Return Scotland

A Women’s Healing Weekend of Embodied Presence and Conscious Movement.

A gentle return to the body, held in a beautiful yurt in nature.

This weekend is a gentle invitation for women to cultivate a deeper relationship with themselves, to listen to the language of their own body and felt experience, held within the supportive presence of other women.
It is for women who long to be with themselves more honestly, who feel called to healing, and who are curious about how we deepen self-connection and care, without pressure to perform, explain, or change.
The intention of this space is to offer the possibility of safety, presence, and reconnection, in a way that honours personal history, embodied choice, and the complexity of being a woman.
Through conscious movement, embodied teaching, and gentle enquiry, we create the conditions to arrive exactly as you are — and to listen inwardly, at your own pace.
Nothing needs to be achieved.
Nothing needs to be shared.
The work begins by attending to what is already here.
~~~~~~~~
THEN NATURE OF THE RETREAT
This is a slow, supported, trauma-aware retreat, held with sensitivity to lived experience, pacing, and embodied choice.
The work unfolds through:
- conscious movement
- somatic awareness and enquiry
- embodied teaching
- breath-led exploration
- ritual and ceremony
The emphasis is on sensing and allowing the body’s own intelligence to guide the process, rather than directing or fixing experience.
Gentle ceremonies with cacao, fire, and sound are woven through the weekend to support settling, presence, and integration.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- accessible, guided conscious movement practices
- opening to the possibility of being with what is here.
- invitation and permission to follow your own rhythm
- a calm, spacious pace across the weekend
- simple ritual elements to support grounding and integration
This weekend is about listening, allowing, and deepening intimacy with your own embodied experience.
THE SPACE & SETTING
We will gather in a large yurt space in nature, held by the land and the elements. There will be time around the fire and the possibility of an evening hot tub, offering warmth and rest.
You are welcome to camp on site, stay in the yurt, or attend as non-residential if preferred. Simple nourishing food is provided, along with teas and ceremonial cacao. All materials needed for practices and ceremonies are included.
Yoga forms such as Yin or Nidra practices may be offered, always as invitations rather than expectations.
FACILITATION
The retreat is facilitated by Monika and Cate — two women who have walked deep paths of healing and come together with a shared devotion to presence, healing, and the sacredness of our being.
They are experienced facilitators in trauma-informed work and co-regulation, and hold this space with humility, care, and respect for each woman’s pace and process.
About Monika
MONIKA has been teaching dance and movement as a consciousness practice since 1998, drawing from traditions such as 5Rhythms, Open Floor, Dancing for Birth, Open Floor Libido Fundamentals, and the Wheel of Consent. Dance has been a lifelong refuge and teacher for her — a place of safety, curiosity, and aliveness through a turbulent childhood, and later a profound pathway for healing, self-understanding, and purpose. Her early training includes jazz dance and modern ballet, which continue to inform the strength, clarity, and embodied awareness in her teaching body today. Her background includes a range of dance forms, alongside later studies in shamanic work, dancing with nature, and movement expression in group settings. Monika creates non-judgmental, open spaces where people are welcomed to move with whatever is present, supported by compassion, curiosity, creativity, and care. After many years of teaching and practice, she remains deeply touched by the truth that the moving body never lies and continually leads us back home to ourselves. For Monika, dance is both a grounding practice and a gateway — a way to listen inwardly, reconnect body, heart, and being, and cultivate an honest, empathic relationship with life.
CATE
Cate holds spaces for healing and reconnection — spaces where people remember how to be fully alive. Her work honours the full spectrum of our humanity: the dark and the light, the tenderness and the wildness, the breaking and the becoming. She draws from years of training and lived experience in somatic therapy, plant medicine integration, breathwork, yin yoga, kundalini yoga, Open Floor, conscious movement, and transformation through sound. Her path has been one of learning to live from the heart — through intimacy, truth, and deep relationship with the natural world, the unseen, and the medicine that moves through all life. Cate is devoted to raw, embodied authenticity, creating spaces where softness and strength coexist, and where each person is welcomed in their wholeness.
ARRIVAL & FLOW
We arrive on Friday evening for a gentle opening into the space, allowing time to land, settle, and arrive without rushing.
The weekend then unfolds with clarity and care, guided by presence and embodied listening.
No prior movement or dance experience is needed. All practices are optional and adaptable.
Do you long to find your exhale?
A space where your shoulders can drop, your body and being can soften.
A space where you can remember your aliveness?
This women’s retreat is a space to reconnect with our bodies through conscious movement and ceremony.
A way of moving that invites us into relationship with our being, where awareness and expression arise together.
A space to:
to the subtle language of sensation, breath, impulse, and feeling
sense
what is alive in the body, moment by moment
be present
with movement, stillness, and the full range of experience
find our exhale
softening into rhythm, breath, and natural pacing
remember
our aliveness, our being, our inherent wholeness
You are very welcome here.
