Take Your Movement Practice to the Next Level!
A foundation in the most up to date approaches to embodiment and mindful movement, our Ground Floor Lab is an intensive, experiential, 30 hour introduction to the Open Floor curriculum. You’ll come away with an understanding of the core teachings and practical skills to use them in your movement practice, your everyday life, workplace and communities.
Open Floor Ground Floor Labs attract people from a wide range of professional backgrounds interested in expanding their skills and knowledge of using the body in movement as a resource for both personal and professional applications.
This program is taught in English at the beautiful venue La Ferme du Bois le Comte of the East West Centre in Orval, in Belgium.
A well known venue where over 25 years many international conscious dance & movement workshops were held.

MONIKA KÖRSCHNER
is an accredited 5Rhythms®, OpenFloor and Libido teacher and teaches dance and movement as a conscious practice in the Netherlands and abroad for over more than 20 years. The last 15 years she specialized herself in Embodied & Conscious Sexuality through a variety of studies.
Monika is trained by Gabrielle Roth to teach 5Rhythms, trained by Andrea Juhan (co-founder of OpenFloor) to teach Libido Fundamentals and trained by Betty Martin in the Wheel of Consent. Since 2018 she is a working member of Open Floor International and involved as mentor, supervisor, teacher and co-creator of international educational training programs. Monika loves to create a non-judgmental, open space where dancers can show up again and again, feeling welcomed to move with whatever is present. As well to create a safe, creative, loving, playful environment to enter into an in-depth enquiry with compassion and curiosity.
PREREQUISITES
50 hours of instructed study in Embodied Movement Practices*
To support your understanding of the Open Floor curriculum, it is highly recommended that some of those hours be in Open Floor Movement Practice. If there is none available in your area, you can find online offerings in our calendar of events. You can also further familiarize yourself with Open Floor Movement Practice by reading through the curriculum material
*includes Yoga, Tai Chi, Alexander Technique, Somatic Experiencing, Feldenkrais as well as Movement Meditation/Conscious Dance Practices such as: Open Floor, Soul Motion, Movement Medicine, 5Rhythms, freedomDANCE, ZeroOne, 360 Emergence, Azul, BISO, Tamalpa, Continuum, Laban, Biodanza

COSTS
The pricing structure of the Ground Floor Lab aligns with Open Floor's value of inclusivity. There are differences among our participants geographically, in social status, and privilege. We offer more flexible and inclusive price options to embody economic justice. Together we can make this programme accessible and inclusive! The costs will cover the fees for two trainers and a crew of assistants and general costs for promotion and material. And it will be supporting the Open Floor International non-profit organization.

This training take place at la ferme du Bois-le-Comte, an eco-friendly venue for groups and guests in the South of Belgium (Orval), close to the French border and at a 20-minute walk throught the woods to the famous abbey of Orval. The centre enjoys a superb position in the midst of nature at one of Belgium’s most beautiful, quiet and energetically powerful sites. The farm’s permaculture grounds cover 10 hectares. They are surrounded by woods and pastures. The place offers peace, space, warmth, and lots of pure, unspoilt nature: fresh and unpolluted air, clear spring water, fragrant wood fire, marvellous star-spangled skies and ... heavenly silence. All workshops at la ferme du Bois-le-Comte include meals and lodging.
